You know how it go. Everything need a likkle servicing sometime, so mi stop by mi mechanic this morning.

As early as the morning is, one bag a long seed man a stand up under a mango tree a chat. Nuttn else nuh dey dey fi do? U a try drive in an every body haffi a shift outa di way AN' a give u instruction on how fi drive.

"Go suh now"
"Awrite come back likkle ... Awrite u dat"

U eva see nuttn go suh? Look how long mi a drive?! Some a dem likkle young bwoy ... tink dem know everyt'ing. A dem u see a drive out ppl car [Kiss teet]

Now, one a di mechanic likkle prento come siddung in my car fi check one a di connection dem fi di indicator that wasn't working. Dis likkle bwoy ya smell like water fraid fi touch him. Now, I know working man. U nuh haffi smell like somn wey dead and lef out ina di sun!

So mi tell him "Look here, just come outa mi car"
"Dawdy u nuh see me a look pon somn"
"Mi look like u fahda bwoy? Come outa mi cyar. Find some wata and go bade u skin!"

Him likkle pissn tail bredren dem nuh stop laff. Mi haffi tell dem fi shet dem r**s! Caw, DEM shoulda tell him.

Mi dun do wey mi a do and a try lef' di place. Same ting again. Every body haffi shift outa di way.

Di likkle yout' open di gate and rub off mi big finga.

What a day!!

Finally reach a mi yard! From how the morning start, is like ... bwoy ... Mek mi jus' tell you.

This morning Babylon stop me. Officer Smith on mi case as usual. Why? Man sey mi bruk di light. Before I could even open mi mouth, Fluffy tell di Officer sey is Amber mi drive through and not Red. Smithy tell her "Amber mean stop" and start to write up a ticket. Is like Fluffy did a drive. She start to argue with the man sey she haffi go fling wey her road code book caw she read sey Amber mean Proceed with Caution. One piece a noise!!!  She and Babylon argue back ... and forth.  Lawd have mercy!! Him tell her to be quiet. She tell him sey, him haffi go arrest her cause a lie him a tell pon Cabbie.

Finally Smithy couldn tek it no more and sey, "Move along, Mr McDuffus" Fluffy have her use.  Aye sah! 

Working people seem fi ketch dem gladbag pon a Friday. Dem vex whole week sey dem dey a work. Friday dem look pon di clock whole day till it reach 5,  then is pure madness pon di road. Traffic, after work party, Drink up, meet up ... all kinda tings.

And of course di boogoo boogoo music! Everybody radio turn up loud. Mi gad! I just glad I dey a my yard.  Going to watch late news, drink a cup a tea and tek een the new Cabinet.

First day outa road!

First day on di stand since election. Everybody seem surprised that the 'green man' win! Dem people nuh easy yu nuh. Hehey! One song sound like a big carnival party and di nex' one sound like revival!

The road kinda quiet still. All the schools not back yet so things slow. A man sey to me him neva have money fi spend fi go nowhere over di Christmas but him have him taxi fare fi go work. Sensible man. If a neva fi Eula I nuh lef' my yard at all!!

Yes ... new year again!

Ahhh. Just wake up and see sey di day nuh look too bad. I not leaving my yard today! Water Commission decide fi gi'e we water today so is a clean start to the new year. I don't see Eula yet. But Ah smelling some food coming from the kitchen. You know how it go when you come back from family gatherings ova di holiday ... so-so leftovers - Ham, rice and peas, curry goat, bake chicken and mannish wata. I hope she rub up 2 fry dumpling fi go with the leftovers.

Yesterday when Ah was coming home, mi see Stoosh Puss! Him a sey 2012 him a go mek some "crazy money!"  If a neva fi New Year nuff people wouldn't have hope sey things might get better and might just think twice before dem chuck off a bridge.

Hopefully some [good] t'ings can gwaan fi Jamaica and not just fi a certain set a people.

Ah haffi a hustle hard pon di road!  JPS don't think twice fi cut off yu light.  Anyway, I vex today. Vex man!! You mena to tell me gas price gone up again????!!!!  So wha' you t'ink going happ'n when gas gone up? Every r@#s t'ing nuh mus' go up to???

Now I relaxing at my yard. Turn on the tv and is pure foolishness. Dem a talk bout translating the Bible into Patois. If people can hardly read English den how di backside dem fi read and understand Patois??? Was'e a time, was'e a time.

We can really put we time ina some foolishniss when people hungry a road! Bwoy ...
